Alfresco Grill Cleaning & Repair

Alfresco grills were built with a focus on serious outdoor cooking: big rotisseries, a dedicated high-heat sear zone and wok-capable power burners. We service them at your home.

What makes an Alfresco different

Alfresco has long been built around a few features that set it apart from more typical luxury grills:

  • A dedicated sear zone. Many Alfresco grills have one burner position built for very high heat for searing, separate from the regular cooking burners.
  • A heavy-duty rotisserie. Alfresco's rotisserie system with its rear infrared burner was built for large loads, and it's one of the brand's signatures.
  • Versa Power burner. Alfresco's side power burner can take a wok ring for high-heat cooking, or a griddle.

You'll see models labeled ALXE in many islands. Alfresco also made pizza ovens, side burners, and refrigeration for complete outdoor kitchens.

Common issues on Alfresco grills

  • Sear burner wear. The sear zone runs hotter than anything else on the grill, and that's where we often see burner wear and grease baking on hard. See sear burner repair.
  • Ignition. Electrodes that crack or get crusted with grease, and spark modules that stop firing.
  • Rotisserie burner and motor. Rear burners that won't light and motors that stopped turning. Covered at rotisserie repair.
  • Power burner clogs. Grease and food debris from wok cooking land right in the burner.
  • Grease management. Packed drip trays and flare-ups.

Cleaning notes

An Alfresco full service means pulling grates, flame tamers and burners, giving the sear zone extra time because grease bakes on harder there, clearing every port, and degreasing the firebox with a biodegradable cleaner. We clean the power burner and its grate, check the rotisserie burner and motor, and empty the grease system. Rinse water is collected and taken with us. The stainless gets a soft-cloth finish with the grain. More detail on our cleaning page.

Parts

Parts availability for Alfresco depends on the model and age, and the lineup has changed over the years. For many common parts (grates, igniters, burners), we can usually find an original or a fitting equivalent. For older or less common pieces, we'll check before we schedule anything. If several systems are failing on an older Alfresco, we can also talk through replacement with a grill matched to your island. See finding parts for discontinued grills.

One practical note on rotisseries: if yours hasn't turned in years, plug the motor in and run it empty before your next big cook. A motor that hums but doesn't spin, or a spit that binds, is much easier to sort out ahead of time than with a roast on it.

Alfresco questions

My Alfresco sear zone gets hot but lights slowly. What's wrong?

Usually a dirty or misaligned igniter, or a partially blocked burner. We'll clean and test it, and replace the part if it's worn.

Can you service the Alfresco pizza oven and side burner too?

Yes. We work on side burners, power burners and outdoor pizza ovens. See smokers, griddles and pizza ovens.

Are you an authorized Alfresco service provider?

No. We're an independent, insured grill company. If your grill is under warranty, contact the manufacturer first.

How do I find my Alfresco model number?

Look for the rating label, typically on or near the grill's underside or inside the front with the drip tray removed. Send us a photo and we'll take it from there.
