Small fixes that keep grills going
Bellflower is mostly single-family homes from the 1940s and 50s, with a good number of apartments and duplexes along the main streets. The grills we see here are practical: freestanding gas grills on the patio, some built into simple block islands, and a lot of flat-tops and smokers next to them. Most owners want the grill working again without spending more than it's worth.
That's a reasonable goal, because the common failures on these grills are cheap parts that wear out. An igniter electrode that's cracked, a regulator that's gone into bypass mode, burners clogged with grease or spider webs. A good cleaning plus one or two parts fixes most of them.

Learn moreThings you can check before calling
If you're comfortable with it, a few quick checks can save a visit or help us bring the right parts.
- Replace the igniter battery (usually AA or AAA, behind the ignition button)
- Turn everything off, disconnect the tank, wait a minute, reconnect and open the tank valve slowly
- Lift the grates and see if the burner ports look blocked or rusted
- Make sure the propane tank actually has gas in it
- Do a soap test on the hose and regulator connections if you smell gas
When those don't work
Call or text us and describe what's happening, or send a short video of the grill trying to light. We carry common igniters, regulators, burners and grates on the truck, so most repairs finish on the first visit. If your grill needs something special, we'll order the right part and come back. Our guide on how to do a gas leak soap test is worth reading before you start poking at connections.
Bellflower FAQ
Do you work on cheaper grills or just high-end ones?
Both. If it runs on gas or charcoal, we'll work on it. We'll just be honest if a repair costs more than the grill is worth.
Can you service a grill at an apartment?
Yes, as long as there's room to lay out drop cloths. Check your building's rules about grills on balconies first.
Do you clean smokers?
Yes. See our smoker and griddle service.
How much is a repair?
It depends on the grill, the parts and the time involved. Send photos or a video and we'll quote it.
