Hancock Park was developed in the 1920s on land owned by the Hancock family, and it still looks much as it did then: wide streets, deep setbacks, and big Tudor, Spanish Colonial and English Revival homes under mature trees. The neighborhood is a city Historic Preservation Overlay Zone, so changes that are visible from the street are reviewed. Most of the outdoor living happens out back, behind the house, where many owners have added pools, pavilions and full outdoor kitchens over the years.
We work with homeowners directly, and often with house managers, estate staff or the contractor who built the kitchen. Either way, the goal is the same: equipment that works when it's needed and looks right next to the rest of the property.

Learn moreTrees, leaves and what they do to a grill
Hancock Park's sycamores, oaks and magnolias are a big part of its character. They also drop leaves, seed pods and pollen into everything. When a grill sits uncovered under a tree, that debris settles into the firebox and onto the burners, then gets baked onto grease the next time someone cooks. Leaves and twigs in the grease tray are also a fire hazard. A regular deep cleaning clears all of it out.
Squirrels and rats use those trees as highways. A grill that isn't used for a few weeks can end up with a nest under the burners or chewed wiring. We cover what to look for in mice and rats in your grill.

Hancock Park FAQ
Will replacing a grill require HPOZ approval?
Swapping a grill inside an existing island in the backyard generally isn't a visible change from the street, but if you're unsure, check with the HPOZ planner. We can supply and install a new grill in the same cutout.
Can you coordinate with our house manager?
Yes. We're happy to schedule, report and invoice through whoever runs the household.
Are your techs insured?
Yes, Surefire is insured.
How is pricing handled?
Pricing depends on the number of appliances, their size, brand and condition, and parts. Call or text us or send photos and we'll put together a quote.
