A Beverly Hills address, a city of LA hillside
Beverly Crest confuses people. Most of it shares the 90210 ZIP code, but it's part of the City of Los Angeles, stretching up Coldwater Canyon, Benedict Canyon and Franklin Canyon toward Mulholland Drive. The homes range from mid-century post-and-beam houses tucked into the slope to new modern builds with glass walls and infinity edges. Almost all of them have one thing in common: the best outdoor space faces the view, and that's where the grill ends up.
For us that means a few practical things. Grills on raised decks have nothing but air below them, so spills and rinse water can't just be hosed away. Wind comes up the canyons in the afternoon and blows out burners and fire features. And the brush that makes the canyons beautiful also drops leaves, holds rodents and sends ash onto patios when fires burn elsewhere in the mountains.
Common hillside problems
Burners that blow out
Canyon wind can snuff low flames. Clean, correctly adjusted burners and a working wind guard help a lot.
Learn moreFire features that won't stay lit
Thermocouples and flame sensors on terrace fire pits get dirty and stop holding the gas valve open.
Learn moreNests in the cabinet
Rodents move into islands backed up against brush. We clear them and point out where they got in.
Learn moreAsh in the burners
After a Santa Ana event, fine ash settles into burner ports and the grease tray. It needs a proper cleaning, not just a brush.

South-facing decks bake. Brittle knobs, cracked bezels and fogged thermometers get replaced.

Beverly Crest streets are narrow, winding and sometimes barely two cars wide. Some driveways are steep enough that we park at the street and carry equipment in. That's fine, but it helps to know ahead of time. When you book, tell us about gates, parking, any stairs down to the grill, and whether there's an elevator. If the street has construction or parking restrictions, mention that too.
A lot of hillside homes here were rebuilt or remodeled in the last decade, and new outdoor kitchens are common. If you're in the middle of a remodel, we can install a built-in grill once the island and gas line are ready, or supply one as a dealer. Our installation page covers what we need from your builder.

Questions from Beverly Crest homeowners
My fire pit lights, then goes out after a minute. What's wrong?
Usually the thermocouple or flame sensor isn't reading the flame, often because it's dirty or the flame is being pushed away from it by wind. It's a common, fixable problem. See fire pit service.
Should I clean my grill after nearby fire activity?
If ash fell on your property, yes. Don't fire it up with a layer of ash inside. Remove what you can with a dry brush and have it cleaned before regular use.
Can you get equipment to a lower terrace?
Yes. We carry what we need by hand when the van can't get close. Just let us know about stairs when you book.
How do you quote hillside jobs?
Same as anywhere: based on the grill's size, brand, condition and parts. Call or text, or send a few photos, and we'll quote it.
