A Bel Air outdoor kitchen is rarely just a grill. A typical call includes a 42- or 54-inch built-in, a side burner or power burner, a griddle or teppanyaki plate, a pizza oven, and a couple of fire features on the terrace or by the pool. Brands run toward the top of the market: Kalamazoo, Hestan, Lynx, Wolf, Viking and Alfresco among them.
That changes what a service visit looks like. It's usually one longer appointment covering every appliance, not a quick in-and-out on a single grill. We map out the appliances on the first visit, note model and serial numbers, and keep a record so later visits are faster.
Working with house managers and staff
Many Bel Air properties are run day to day by an estate manager, a house manager or a chef. We're comfortable with that arrangement. Book through whoever handles vendors, give us gate and parking instructions, and we'll check in with staff on arrival. When the work is done, we send photos and a short summary of what we found, what we fixed and anything that needs attention later.
Event schedules matter too. If there's a party on the calendar, tell us. A cleaning and full function check a week or so ahead gives time to order any part that turns up worn, instead of finding out the rotisserie motor is dead the afternoon guests arrive. Some properties put the whole outdoor kitchen on a maintenance plan so this just happens.
A full outdoor kitchen visit
- 1
Walk-through
We go over each appliance with you or your staff and note any complaints: a sear burner that's slow to light, a pizza oven that won't hold temperature, a fire feature that keeps going out.
- 2
Protect the area
Drop cloths over stone, decking and nearby furniture. Bel Air terraces tend to have finishes nobody wants grease on.
- 3
Clean and inspect
Each grill and burner comes apart, gets cleaned with biodegradable degreasers, and gets inspected for wear.
- 4
Repair on the spot
Common parts for premium brands ride on the truck. Anything unusual gets ordered and scheduled.
- 5
Polish and test
Stainless is cleaned and polished, gas connections are leak-tested, and every burner is fired and checked.
Beyond the grill
Fire pits and fire bowls
Burner pans, ignition systems and media cleaned, flame patterns corrected.

Bel Air's winding streets, steep drives and gated entries are part of the job. We plan around narrow roads like Stone Canyon and Roscomare, and around properties where the service van has to park at the motor court and gear gets carried down to a lower terrace. Upper Bel Air sits against brush in the Santa Monica Mountains, so canyon-side properties tend to collect more leaf litter, ash after fire weather, and the occasional rodent nest in a cabinet. That's worth a check after a Santa Ana event, as our ash and wind guide explains.
Bel Air questions
Do you sign NDAs or follow property confidentiality rules?
We're happy to follow your property's vendor policies. Let us know what's required when you book.
Can you replace a built-in without disturbing the stone?
Usually. We measure the cutout and find a current model that fits, so the island stays intact.
Are your technicians insured?
Yes. We can send a certificate of insurance to your estate manager on request.
How do you price a full outdoor kitchen visit?
It depends on how many appliances there are, their brands and condition, and any parts needed. Call or text, or send photos, and we'll put a quote together.
