Learn moreHeavy use is the main story here
In a lot of Glendale households the grill isn't an occasional thing. It runs most weekends from spring into fall, cooking for family and friends, often for hours at a time with skewers and kebabs that drip steadily onto the heat plates. That kind of cooking is what grills are built for, but it fills a grease tray quickly and coats the inside of the firebox in a thick layer that eventually catches fire.
Add Glendale summers, which routinely run into the high 90s and beyond, and that grease bakes on hard. By the end of a busy season, many grills we open have heat plates buried in carbon, burner ports half closed and a grease cup that overflowed into the cabinet weeks ago. For grills used this much, we usually suggest a cleaning at the start of the season and another after the summer rush. Our page on how often to clean a grill has more detail.
From the flats to the canyons
Glendale covers a lot of ground. Downtown and the neighborhoods south of the 134 are dense with apartments and condos, where grills sit on balconies or in shared courtyards. North of there, Rossmoyne, Verdugo Woodlands and the streets around Brand Park are mostly single-family homes with backyards and plenty of mature trees. Chevy Chase Canyon and the hillsides along the Verdugo Mountains have larger lots and outdoor kitchens on terraces, often reached by a steep drive.
We work all of it. On a balcony job we bring drop cloths and keep the setup small. On a hillside estate we carry everything up from wherever we can park.
Cleaner for the yard, too
We use biodegradable, food-safe degreasers and contain the dirty rinse water so it doesn't run across your patio, into the lawn or down to the street. On shared condo patios that also keeps neighbors and building managers happy. Details are on our eco-friendly cleaning page.
Glendale questions
Can you clean a grill on a condo balcony?
Yes. We protect the floor and railing area, contain the mess and work within the building's rules. Mention any parking or elevator limits when you book.
My grill lights but the flame is weak. Is it the tank?
Could be a low tank or a regulator in bypass mode, but on a heavily used grill it's often clogged burners. See why a grill won't get hot, or have us take a look.
Do you come out on weekends?
We work seven days a week. Weekend spots go fast in summer, so book a little ahead.
How much is a cleaning?
It depends on the grill's size, brand and condition, and whether parts are needed. Call or text or send a couple of photos for a quote.
